What to Expect From Your Immigration Psychological Evaluation
We understand that this process can feel overwhelming, especially when legal timelines and personal stress are involved. Our goal is to make your immigration psychological evaluation in New Jersey clear, supportive, and efficient from start to finish.
1. Initial Consultation & Scheduling
We begin with a brief consultation to understand your needs, the type of evaluation required (VAWA, hardship waiver, asylum, etc.), and any attorney deadlines. You’ll receive clear next steps, scheduling options, and fee information upfront.
2. Comprehensive Clinical Interview
Your evaluation includes a thorough, trauma-informed clinical interview conducted via secure telehealth or in person. We explore your history, current concerns, and the emotional and psychological impact relevant to your case. This is a supportive, respectful space, paced to ensure accuracy without feeling rushed.
3. Record Review & Collaboration (if applicable)
If you are working with an attorney, we can coordinate as needed to ensure your evaluation aligns with your case requirements. Relevant documents may be reviewed to strengthen the clinical foundation of your report.
4. Report Development
Your evaluation is carefully written into a detailed, attorney-ready psychological report. Reports are structured to meet USCIS and immigration court expectations, integrating clinical findings with clear, professional language.
5. Timely Delivery
Completed reports are delivered within the agreed-upon timeframe (usually within 5 days), with options for expedited turnaround when needed. Reports can be sent directly to your attorney or to you, depending on your preference.
6. Follow-Up Support
If clarification or minor revisions are requested by your attorney, we remain available to support your case. Our goal is to ensure your evaluation is both clinically sound and legally useful.
A Thoughtful, Efficient Process
Each step is designed to balance clinical depth with timeliness so you receive a high-quality immigration psychological evaluation without unnecessary delays or confusion.
About Your Evaluator
Leana Sykes M.Ed, LPC, ACS
My name is Leana Sykes. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 24 years of experience in mental health. I specialize in immigration evaluations for clients in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
I was trained directly by Mark Sadoff, one of the most respected experts in immigration evaluations in the country. That training taught me exactly what immigration judges and USCIS officers need to see, and how to write it clearly.
I know that most of my clients have been through very hard things. I work hard to make the evaluation process feel safe and respectful. I listen carefully and move at your pace. Many clients tell me it was easier than they expected.
When clients feel safe, they open up more. That leads to a better evaluation ,and a stronger case.
My reports are complete, clearly written, and ready to submit. I understand filing deadlines and I take them seriously. Attorneys who work with me know they can count on me to deliver — without follow-up or rewrites.
