Hi, I’m Leana Sykes, owner of Grounded Growth Counseling.
I work with adults and couples whose present-day lives and relationships are still being shaped by early family experiences. Many of the people I work with grew up with emotionally immature, inconsistent, or unavailable parents, experienced loyalty conflicts or parental alienation, or learned early to adapt in order to stay connected. Over time, these experiences can show up as self-doubt, guilt around boundaries, emotional reactivity, distance in relationships, or patterns that persist despite insight and effort.
My approach is attachment-based and trauma-informed, grounded in the understanding that early relationships shape how the nervous system learns safety and connection. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as EMDR and Brainspotting to support change at the level where these experiences are held so insight becomes felt and lasting. Sessions are structured, collaborative, and carefully paced, with a focus on nervous-system regulation, clarity, and forward movement.
In my work with couples, I help partners understand how their individual histories interact in the relationship, often creating cycles of escalation, withdrawal, or disconnection despite care and commitment. Using a PACT-informed framework, I focus on what’s happening between partners in real time, supporting greater safety, mutual regulation, and repair. When appropriate, EMDR or Brainspotting is gently integrated to reduce reactivity and support new relational experiences.
I believe it’s possible to honor your story without being defined by it. My work is focused on helping individuals and couples carry their history with less weight and build relationships that feel steadier, more intentional, and more connected.
“I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it.”

Available Virtually
Hey there! I’m Monet Kendall-Turner, a Licensed Associate Counselor. If you’re feeling stuck, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or unsure how to move forward, you’re not alone. Many people come to therapy already thoughtful and self-aware, yet something inside still feels unsettled. I believe that healing is something you already carry within you, just like your body naturally knows how to heal a cut. My role is to help you reconnect with that wisdom and trust yourself again.
With individuals, I help you gently explore the different parts of you with curiosity and compassion. There are no “bad” parts—only parts that learned how to protect you, cope, or survive. When those parts are understood instead of judged, real change begins to happen. This work is about building a kinder relationship with yourself and finding more balance, calm, and joy from the inside out.
With couples, I support partners in slowing things down and finding their way back to each other. Whether you’re feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or struggling to rebuild trust, our work focuses on creating safety, strengthening communication, and restoring emotional closeness. It’s not about blame or who is right. It’s about understanding what each of you needs to feel secure, seen, and supported.
Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and empowering. You don’t have to try harder or be “better” to heal. You already have what you need inside of you. Together, we create space for clarity, compassion, and meaningful growth—so you can move forward feeling more grounded, whole, and hopeful.
Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
